Lyness family papers, 1886-1946.

The transcription of diaries date from 1886, 1887, 1889, and 1890. Sarah Lyness moved to Dakota Territory from a farm near Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She had four sons and a daughter. The diaries were transcribed by Marion Lyness Eldredge, great granddaughter of Sarah Lyness. Later accession consists of the diaries of Sarah Lyness (1886-1887, 1889, 1890, 1891 and 1892) and Ida Lyness Lloyd (Sarah's daughter) (1883, 1890, 1891, 1904 and 1905), transcriptions of Sarah Lyness' diaries by Marion Lyness Eldredge (1891 and 1892), a variety of certificates of Chester Lyness (son of George Lyness), Marion Lyness (Eldredge), Nora Marie Link (mother of Marian), and Hazel Irene Lyness (daughter of George Lyness).
